Nomadland é o grande vencedor dos Óscares 2021

Já Anthony Hopkins ganhou o Óscar de Melhor Ator, exatamente três décadas após a vitória por The Silence of the Lambs.

Desde que passou a realizar-se sem anfitrião que a cerimónia de entrega dos Óscares tem ficado ainda mais morna. Em tempos de pandemia, isso ajuda ainda menos, com a ausência de milhares a pessoas a fazer-se notar sem os típicos aplausos ou risos estridentes que evidenciam o calor humano. Porém, com ou sem apresentador, milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo juntam-se neste evento atual para saberem se, efetivamente, os seus palpites estavam certos.

Bom, comecemos por dizer que Nomadland foi o grande vencedor dos Óscares 2021. Graças ao filme, Chloé Zhao conseguiu o Óscar de Melhor Filme e Melhor Realização. Já Frances McDormand levou para casa o Óscar de Melhor Atriz graças ao seu papelão nesta longa-metragem.

Já no fim, uma “surpresa”: quando muito pensavam que Chadwick Boseman ia ganhar o Óscar de Melhor Ator a título póstumo, para terminar a cerimónia com um discurso emotivo por parte de Taylor Simone Ledward, a viúva do ator, eis que, afinal (e merecidamente), foi Anthony Hopkins a conquistar o prémio pelo seu papel em The Father. Não houve, porém, qualquer agradecimento: o veterano ator não estava nem em Los Angeles nem na “hub” de Londres, mas sim num hotel no País de Gales. Estranha forma de terminar uma celebração anual.

De resto, Daniel Kaluuya conseguiu o Óscar de Melhor Ator Secundário pelo papel em Judas and the Black Messiah; Youn Yuh-jung foi a primeira sul coreana a ganhar a estatueta dourada de Melhor Atriz Secundária pelo seu desempenho em Minari; Another Round conquistou o Óscar de Melhor Filme Internacional; e Soul ficou com o Óscar de Melhor Filme de Animação.

O grande derrotado acabou por ser The Trial of the Chicago 7, que foi o único dos oito nomeados para Melhor Filme a não conquistar qualquer Óscar.
