A Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas revelou os nomeados para os Óscares deste ano, com uma surpresa para os portugueses.
É já a 12 de março que acontece mais uma edição da mais prestigiada entrega de prémios de cinema em Hollywood, os Óscares.
Até lá, podemos por em dia os filmes a ver até à data da cerimónia com a lista de nomeados que foram agora revelados pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas, numa transmissão em direto apresentada por Riz Ahmed, vencedor na melhor curta live-action do ano passado, e por Allison Williams, uma das estrelas do filme M3GAN, que se encontra atualmente em exibição.
Os nomeados deste ano incluem um número bem generoso de filmes, curtas e personalidades bem populares, com algumas nomeações para melhor filme onde encontramos Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun: Maverick ou Everything Everywhere All at Once; a nomeação do explosivo número musical “Naatu Naatu” de RRR; a primeira nomeação de atuação para um filme da Marvel Studios, por parte de Angela Bassett em Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; e temos também a estreia de Portugal nos Óscares da Academia, com Ice Merchants, na categoria de Melhor Curta Animada.
Realizado por João Gonzalez, Ice Merchants é uma das cinco nomeações da categoria de Melhor Curta Animada e já conta com um percurso bem aclamado, ao tornar-se também o primeiro filme de animação português nomeado em Cannes; foi um dos 5 nomeados para os Prémios do Cinema Europeu; somou 9 prémios em festivais qualificantes para os Óscares da Academia Americana; conquistou 45 outros prémios e menções especiais em festivais de cinema; e ultrapassou as 100 seleções oficiais em festivais de todo o mundo, em menos de um ano de circuito.
O filme de animação conta a história de um homem e do seu filho, que saltam de para-quedas todos os dias da sua casa fria e vertiginosa presa no alto de um precipício para se deslocarem à aldeia que se situa na planície abaixo, onde vendem o gelo que produzem durante a noite.
